Naruto: Shippuden Episode 48 - Bonds

It's kind of funny how the Bleach and Naruto manga and anime have gone in completely opposite directions respective to each other. The Naruto manga is zooming along at a breakneck speed, while the Bleach manga is inching forward, spending forever on individual fights without much happening. On the other hand, the Bleach anime is covering more chapters than I though was possible, while the Naruto anime is slowly taking it's time, with Dragonball-esque moments of pondering. Just my thoughts; now on to a review of the latest Naruto episode!
When last episode ended, Sai had successfully infiltrated Orochimaru's lair by pretending he wanted to help him and Kabuto take over the Leaf Village. Naruto, Sakura, and Yamato have caught up to Sai in one of Oro's rooms, where they angrily question his motivations. Sai reveals that he was on a second agenda for Danzou, and he was to send information concerning Orochimaru back to him. He also reveals that the name "Sai" was given to him exclusively for the mission, and that he did not really exist. However, Sakura remembers his little picture book and asks him why he still treasures it. This shocks Sai into not responding for a few moments, and Yamato tells the others that in order to kill his emotions, Sai did special training (similar to what Zabuza did), which meant he would have had to kill his brother. However, before he can actually say the words, Sai interrupts him and says that his brother actually died from illness.
The group relocates to outside the secret lair (nanananana... Batman!) before Kabuto walks into the room. Sai is tied up by Yamato's wood technique, and he leaves a clone to watch over him. As the others prepare to go back inside, Sai tells them to give up, as he has already met Sasuke, and he tells them they will only be killed for Orochimaru's experiments. He tells Naruto that Sasuke no longer cares about him. Naruto responds by saying that Sasuke was one of the first people to ever truly acknowledge him, and therefore he will go to any lengths to save him, ending the episode. Just a reminder that on the 20th of March there will be an hour long Naruto special. See ya!
